Van Ek Contracting (VEC) was originally established in 1994 as a bridge construction firm. Through innovation and quality, the business quickly grew from a small unknown entity to become the major bridge contractor in Tasmania.

Together with Van Ek Victoria (VEV), which operates from a permanent base in Victoria, the company now undertakes projects around Australia and overseas.

As divisions of Van Ek Holdings, VEC and VEV both provide a wide range of services that includes bridges, roadworks, rail maintenance, piling, structural steel and precast/prestressed concrete.

The complementary divisions comprise teams of people whose collective expertise and extensive experience have created a company that is cohesive, highly rated and well respected within the civil contracting industry.
