BRIGHTON BYPASS - NORTHERN SECTION

This major project will improve traffic movement and safety around the Kingston area. The bypass commences south of the Kingston Interchange and passes underneath Summerleas Road west of the existing Channel Highway. The alignment is located approximately parallel to Whitewater Creek before rejoining the existing Channel Highway at Algona Road. Read more...

BATMAN HIGHWAY/EAST TAMAR HIGHWAY JUNCTION
This is a major infrastructure project at the junction of the East Tamar Highway and the Batman Highway. Together these roads carry an extremely high volume of vehicles and heavy traffic - they service a large industrial area and busy seaport at Bell Bay, as well as providing the major access to nearby George Town and the surrounding community. EAST ARM RAIL BRIDGE - EMERGENCY REPAIR & REPLACEMENT
An emergency occurred when a truck carrying an excavator collided with the East Arm rail bridge over the East Tamar Highway. The bridge was badly damaged and resulted in the highway being closed whilst engineering assessments were made. Read more...
