The Project is to deliver 2500ML of water from the Forth River to irrigators in Kindred, Gawler and North Motton. The water is to be transferred to the Sprent Dam using off peak power.
The KNMIS Distribution Pipeline will be delivering a series of pipelines and boost pump stations to deliver water to various areas in the Kindred North Motton Irrigation District. The source of water will be the Forth River just above the Paloona Road Bridge.
The project was required to deliver a fully functioning irrigation scheme to reliably extract 2,500ML per annum from the Forth river and through 47.5 km of pipelines, deliver it to the Sprent Dam from whence it will be pressure boosted to allow it to then gravitate to the pipeline ends in Kindred, Forth, Gawler and North Motton areas. There is a spur line from the Sprent Dam with a localised booster pump with a high lift requirement at Sprent. An additional spur line from the North Motton 1 line with an inline booster pump with a high lift requirement in North Motton towards Preston.
