The upgrade, known as the Perth Link Roads project, improved the safety and efficiency of one of the State's busiest highways.
The Perth Link Roads is the largest project in the Tasmanian Government’s Midland Highway 10-year action plan.
As part of the $75 million project the VSJV delivered design and construct services including:
The project removed a significant number of heavy vehicle movements from the town, and eliminated traffic interaction at two known intersections of concern, including one railway crossing, resulting in the Perth township becoming more pedestrian-friendly.
Using local design skills, a proven safety record and industry-leading stakeholder management, the VSJV delivered the Perth Link Roads project 44 weeks ahead of schedule, with the roads open to the public in April 2020.
